The purpose of this contest is to build a great 4 passenger spacecraft and a launch system and show the world the spacecraft in the testing and actual space flight via a fully explained website report on your test space flight, with full graphics and a cool story detailing your flight! EVEN IF YOU DON'T WIN IT WILL BE GREAT FUN SO ENTER TODAY! As MoTIS is an active EAA member and heavily invested in real aviation our site receive thousands of hits daily from real world engineers, pilots, and flight sim enthusiasts interested in next generation neo concept aviation! Entering this contest is not just about winning a grand prize but also about getting exposure and having fun in a friendly contest environment and as we personally receive hundreds of emails a week from aerospace pioneers, pilots, and flight sim enthusiasts hailing our neo concept mission, as our mission extends beyond the world of flight simulation aircraft design, this is a great way to get your name out there as a serious designer headed for real world careers in aerospace engineering. If you are a aeronautics student and are headed to NASA or any other real world aeronautics venture these types of contest and events are standard in all fields of aviation so don't be shy give your self a chance to compete as the worst thing that can happen is that you don't win the grand prize but will make new friends and have fun doing something that we all enjoy; designing and flying!!! CONTEST PRIZES ○ MINIMUM CONTEST REQUIREMENTS ○ TEAM RULES THE SPACE CRAFT ○ THE LAUNCH SYSTEM ○ TESTING THE SPACE CRAFT ○ WEBSITE SPACE REPORT ○ CONTEST JUDGING ATMOSPHERIC FLIGHT AND SPACE FLIGHT MISSION OBJECTIVES The grand prize is a web trophy for your web site, a contest winners certification award, and a $50.00 USD cash prize to the winner along with all bragging rights and fun that comes along with winning! NOTE: THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER WITH NO EXCEPTIONS A. All you need to enter and compete is FS 2002 or 2004 or X-PLANE-any version will do, the ability to design a MSFS, or X-PLANE aircraft and a launch system in GMax, FSDS, X-PLANE plane maker etc.., and the ability to report the testing of the craft and final test flight into space with a story created and designed from your own gathered design team! B. You need a single page website that will have the testing test phases of your spacecraft and launch system. C. Some form of graphic and word/HTML program to explain your test and final space flight mission D. A PAYPAL account to receive your cash winnings!!! E. TONS OF IMAGINATION!!! You may add as many or as few members to your team as you chose i.e.. A designer, a test pilot, a web reporter etc. or you may enter as a single developer doing it all . Its all up to you! NOTE: ONLY ONE PRIZE ALLOTTED TO THE TEAM IF YOUR TEAM SHOULD WIN, NO MULTIPLE PRIZES FOR ALL MEMBERS... There are no rules as to the design or spacecraft specs ,we only ask that you make it a 4 passenger spacecraft in keeping with the rules of designing a true low cost space transport system! Let your imagination run wild. The spacecraft must be of your own design and have a basic but new custom panel for the spacecraft to be a valid entry- No exceptions.. X-PLANE DESIGNERS NOTICE ONLY: All X-PLANE entries also need a custom panel to be valid for entry. No exceptions.. By custom we mean design a new 2D panel for your aircraft. 2D panels required Virtual Cockpits optional but may increase your chances! The launch system must be a separate rocket system or carrier aircraft to get your spacecraft into a Low Earth Orbit LEO). As with the spacecraft let your imagination run wild. As long as you show how and what your logical plan is for getting the spacecraft into orbit use any system of your choosing! A. Once we get all contestants registered we will get all their respective spacecrafts and launch systems a certain project deadline and this will be the final spacecraft that each team can use for the contest. Teams up until this point will have developed their respective designs in private! We will have a grand showing of each teams design on one selected date and then teams will start posting aircraft testing photos and stories of atmospheric testing only! No space test flights or reports until the standard testing dates for the space story part of the contest are posted. B. The launch system can also be shown in testing on your website but it is not required. You will use your basic single website page to show your design in the phases that the spacecraft are to be shown in on the dates given and we have a standard web layout that you must adhere to as many of the public need to see the exact same layout to the page so as to get a good comparison of all entries with out having to find what they are looking at so that when they vote on your design and launch system and space flight story they will all generally be looking at the same info on each teams site... X-PLANE DESIGNERS NOTICE ONLY: As X-PLANE is all set up to conduct LEO test flight we are asking all X-PLANE designers using the X-PLANE simulator to follow the same graphics enhancement in the story telling phase of this contest. So what that means is that X-PLANE design teams need to graphically enhance there in space photo shots in keeping with the website reporting standards of all contestants The general simulations public will vote on the aircraft at a major voting site as well as the story and the graphics put into to taking us on a mission into space in your space craft!!! NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT ENHANCE YOUR SPACE PHOTOS YOU WILL BE DUISQUALIFIED! Here is the standard website layout you must use. You may let your imagination go wild and design any thing you chose as far a graphics go or content but please maintain the same basic website format. THANK YOU ENTER V-CON SAMPLE CONTEST WEBPAGE LAYOUT This contest will be judged by the flight sim community at large through a contest voting poll and no one will be able to affect the out come or results in any way. no favoritism! All judging should be done on creativity, talent, vision, and good descriptive story telling. We have not chosen the place of voting as of yet but will inform all teams as to where they can vote and how they should consider each part of this contest when picking a winner! After the contest we will announce a winner at this site and take one week to get the winner his/her prizes after this we will ask all designers to release their respective spacecraft and launch systems to the general flight simulations community for free so that they may continue in the fun!
